Easily soluble in ether, petroleum ether, various fatty oils, benzene, carbon disulfide, chloroform and turpentine, insoluble in ethanol and almost insoluble in water. It becomes a transparent liquid when heated and can fluoresce in the dark after being irradiated with ultraviolet rays.
